New four wheeler
I have decided to not get a use four wheeler, and just finance a new one. Here is the situation, I am on a strict budget. I want opinions on which brand/model I should go with based on my needs. I will not be driving this thing through a pond, although if I have to cross a nasty hole I would like to be able to get through it. Other than that, I will use it for hunting and some trail riding. What would yall recommend? Thanks for the help in advance!

Re: New four wheeler
Definitely sounds like you want a 4x4 with usable racks.
What's your budget? This will help me/us determine what is available within your price range (what you'll be choosing from). From there, we'll/I'll be able to recommend a quad (or two...or three) to you.
It's hard to go wrong with really any quad these days. Some are better than others, however.
Also, how much riding experience do you have?
Another important factor is what dealers you have near you and which are good/nice and dependable. A good dealer is extremely important when buying a new quad.
Fill me in on this info and I'll be a lot more helpful...

I would like to stay under 6k. They polaris sportsman 400 has a offer which takes off 800 dollars I think, which equals out to be around 4800, but I want it in camo which will obv. cost me extra. I have owned 1 other four wheeler about 5 years ago, rode a good bit when I was younger, but cant say that I am a "expierenced" rider.

Re: New four wheeler
You definitely going to buy new? $6000 can buy a damn good used 4x4.
These are the new quads in the $6K price range:
Arctic Cat 366
Honda Rancher
Kawasaki Prairie 360
Polaris Sportsman 400 H.O.
Polaris Sportsman 500 H.O.
Suzuki King Quad 400FS
Yamaha Grizzly 350
Of those, the Polaris 400, Suzuki, and Honda are probably the best machines. The Polaris 500 is the older (outdated) model, the Kawasaki is outdated, the Arctic Cat is underpowered, and the Yamaha is underpowered.
However, I'd still say take a look into the used quad market. $6K will go a LONG way for a used quad and you'd be able to buy something with a much more powerful engine (like a Kawasaki Brute Force) or that is a better quad all-around (like a Yamaha Grizzly 660).

Re: New four wheeler
For that kind of money on a brand new wheeler you couldn't do better than a Foreman. The racks are a little small but it'll be stone reliable and the power is good, smooth through the entire rpm range. If you have Kawasaki dealer nearby give the Bayou a chance. It's a great 250 five speed thats pretty inexpensive and equally reliable. It's 2 wheel drive and isn't a power house but from what you described it might fit your needs and budget very well. It's amazing the mud holes you can tackle on a 2 wheel drive machine. I'd put a winch on it for the ones that don't go so well. We had a Honda Recon for some time and loved it, another 2 wheel drive 250, but it was an awesome machine. If our dealer gets one in on trade we hope to pick one up again. Easy on the budget and super trail and hunting machines.

Awesome!!
I think you'll be very happy with it for many years. Honda makes incredibly good machines. I believe I've never seen one on the wrong end of a tow strap. At that price you did well. Man law ---- we need pictures!

Good lookin' quad!
I highly recommend doing wheels with tires, a set of wider offset wheels will drastically increase the stability of the machine as well as its handling abilities.

Do you know of any websites that sell tires and wheels cheap? Or should I just try to find something local?

Typically the cheapest you will find is http://www.rockymountainatv.com. There is ALWAYS a rockymountain discount code available for money off. I usually just google search for one.

Maxxis Big Horn 2.0 are good all around tires. As far as where to buy look all over the net. Watch out for shipping charges.
