Can-am's vs a Thundercat in a Drag

Postby jnewell123 » Sun Feb 03, 2008 9:10 am

I came across these Drag races from this past November at Busco Beach in Goldsboro , NC.
It is of a few Can am Gades and a Outty 800 racing the new Artic 'Kitty" Cat Thunder Bird 1000.One of the ReneGade's has Mod Cams,Pistons,Exhaust, and Intake. the other Gade had a Ron Woods exhaust , The Outty had Ron Woods Exhaust, and a Intake.

The Videos are blurry but it was done with a camera phone. You can make out by colors of the Quads who one. If you pause it at the finish You can see what happen.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vU2jWt5RwAk

the Modded out Renegade won every race. 2nd was the Piped Gade, 3rd was Outtywith the Pipe an the Intake Mods,And of course least and last in the rear every time was the Mighty an Awesome Thundercat..
This should help as you watch it. I heard some more Races will be going on there Feb, 10th for a rematch. Mabe some more Thunder Cats will have nerve enough to show up.The Tweaked out Renegade was a demo Performance East Dealership did an may have already sold it .
OBTW The Thunder Cat had a Modded Exhaust ! It was not totally stock.

VERY blurry videos. The Can-Ams do look to have a clear edge though.

I'm interested to see how they would stack up on dirt (that was sand they were racing on, right?) and on pavement.

Not a real big surprise. Can- am said on Atv Magazine T.V. about 2 years ago" They want the fastest most powerful trail/sport riding atv out there. That is why they done away with the Quest and Traxster lines. Made since with the Outlanders are a heck of alot Sportier than the old work horses. Artic Cat = one awsome trail and utility quad. I'm not knocking the Artic Cat, but they are known for tough atvs wether work or play. Not speed.

I'm not surprised one bit. I new the whole time that the Renegade would win.

If you do not believe it show up @ Busco Beach in Goldsboro NC on Feb. 12th. these riders down there are serious about the Sport and Performance East is on of the Best on the East Coast . So when you say "fake" just call these Dudes at Performance East in Goldsboro, NC and ask them about how fast the Gade is and what Mods they have done to the one in the Race .Just tell them the Race in NOV 07 that was on the Busco Forum. They will tell you I am sure.

yeah see this is completely possible..but when the outlaw came out adn there was that vid of it SMOKING a banshee.
it HAD to be fake
the way i see it. unless you have someone inspect the engine. and everything and have a professional drag race. you have nothing.

trailblazer is very right. Youtube is NOT a reliable source.

I still can't wait to see a Thundercat in person. I see Outlander 800s and Renegades (still haven't seen a Renegade X) all the time on the trails.

The only reliable source is to see it first hand. Not by posting in a forum, watching a video or reading in a magazine. Just seeing it with your own two eyes.

That is not a fake I heard about it around an not on the Forum . My Brother in law is a Reene Freak who owns one, he was there in Busco when it ran. He never seen a Thundercat before. Busco Beach has alot of Can-ams there all the time an win alot too on Drags an Mud Bogs Trail Racing. I heard the stock Reene is beating Raptor 700's too down there. I see a bunch of slamming the Renegades on here and I aint no Can-am owner or nothing but the Drag times I saw listed on the Polaris category I just posted in- was only a half second difference an could be made up by the rider or a different side of the track . Dirt aint like asphalt it can be off as much as 1 second or there abouts. :?: That Reene is no Joke it is a "scarry beast" 8) .
Got to Ride!

Can am owners are the most annoying people alive. You are riding a 4x4 machine, who cares how fast it goes. If Can am is so great, what happen to John Natalie when he went from Honda to Canned Ham?

He disappeared from the racing standings. To go from 1st one season to not in the top 5 the next and it is all because of the machine...

Around here, the only time people are looking at Canned Hams is when they are being towed back to the pit area. They are over priced piles of junk. People who don't know squat about ATVs goes out and buys one because they are the most expensive. And then they all get this stupid [censored] attitude just like you have... Go away, this place is better without you.
