I'm looking at buying a DS650 (keeping my Renegade as well). From everything I've read and heard they sound like a very solid bike. I'm not sure what year to be looking for though. Were there many changes during it's life span? Are there any model years to definitely avoid? Any years to specifically hunt for? Primary use would be trail riding but I do hit the Oregon Dunes a couple times a year and maybe desert racing in the future.

Any input would be appreciated :mrgreen:

I'm going to agree about the 05 model. The sickest 650 the ever released is the DS650 Baja X

ya the ds650 x is realy nice.. but i still like my baja ds650 its an 03 and i ride hard and never have any problems..

I've always wanted to take one for a spin. They look like they would be really top heavy, are they?

it's not really that bad but im 236 lbs and 6 foot so i kinda make it top heavy. but i ride hard and i've been on a few tracks and i only rolled once... i think because of the wieght of the machine it stays on the ground pertty good
