Rancher with code 5

Hello, I have a 2005 Rancher AT that is flashing a code 5. I understand this is the angle sensor that has to be preloaded at installation . Is this correct ? Also will i have to erase the code from the ECM after the install? If so , how is that done? Thanks for any help !!
