Rancher with code 5

Hello,I have a 2005 Rancher AT that is flashing a code 5. I understand this is the angle sensor and it has to be preloaded at installation. Is this correct ? also will i have to erase the code from the ECM after the install ? If so, how is that done ? Thanks for any help !!
