Question on my Grizzly top speed

Postby GRZ450 » Mon Mar 17, 2008 6:20 pm

My 2007 Grizzly 450 has 450 miles on it and i live near long gravel roads where i have opened it up. I have discovered that it has a low top speed of 52mph is this normal?

If it is do you have any mods to get more power on top end.

Thanks

Exhaust, Clutch Kit, Air Box Mod, Big Bore kit. Can't guaruntee anything though. Best bet would be a clutch kit, and an exhaust.

Im sure theres many more ways, but I am drawing blanks right now.

52 MPH sounds about right. It's not meant for a high top speed.

The digital speedo on our Grizlly 660 has shown 69mph before on flat pavement, idk about the 450.

Well something may be wrong I'm not positive though because my outlander 330 tops out at 54.

Thanks but i talked to a guy that has a 06 Kodiak 450(same machine different name) and his gets about 51. I think the 450's just were not built for speed. :(

52 is pretty good....most of the ones I have seen top out at 51. But if you get a filter, exhaust and mod the clutch, it will come up a bit.

I don't believe it. On a 660 or 700, yes, but on a 450...no.

My friend just bought the 2009 Grizzly 550 and he tops out at about 65 on pavement. That machine is awesome, but I have a 92 big bear 350 and I was thouroughly impressed with its performance on the trail. It is not a trail bike, but it held it's own.
