This trail is one of the three trails the Annual Sierra Trek is run on. This being the short wheel base trail and most difficult. Some people feel this trail is more difficult then the Rubicon. There are several deep water crossings, in fact during the Sierra Trek P.G.& E. slows the water flow for the event. There all no less the five areas which can be a challenge to climb, labeled in the Sierra Trek as Winch hills 1 through 5. This trail is definitely only for experienced drivers. Most people take around 4 to 6 hours to reach Summit City at Meadow Lake.
