The Stony Spur II ATV Trail begins in Babbitt and runs approximately 26 miles eastward, south of Bear Island State Forest. The Stony Spur II Trail is open for ATV use from April 1 to November 30. It may be temporarily closed for resource protection. Call ahead. The trail has been developed and maintained by the Babbitt Embarrass Area Development Association (BEADA) and the U.S. Forest Service. Some improvements have been made using Grant-In-Aid funds generated by Recreational Motor Vehicle (RMV) registration fees and a portion of Minnesotas gas tax that has been attributed to RMV use.
