Part of the San Bernardino National Forest, the Big Bear area has dozens of off-road trails. Some of them are well-maintained, while others can be rugged and challenging.

The high elevation of Big Bear makes for great summertime off-roading in Southern California, when other destinations are too hot. If you like 'wheeling in the snow, there's plenty of that in the winter. If you're up for a long trail ride, you can even start your trip down in the desert and off-road all the way up to the top of the mountains.
