I have owned the 2500 lb winch for about 1 month and just got to put it to work on sunday, May 20.  Myself and a friend went out to play on the quads and to try to test out my new winch.  We did just that, I got stuck in a creek on a sand bar and my buddy got his quad stuck about 3 feet in front of me trying to get arround me to hook up a strap and pull me out.  I spent about 5 minutes crawling up the steep creekbed and hooked up to a tree and winched my bike out sideways, I could not get it to budge prior to using the winch, I then hooked up to my buddy's quad and did the same to him.  My quad was running thru water that was over the winch most of the morning, and had no problems running even when it was partially submerged.  And it is guaranteed longer than any other manufacturers product.  I will not purchase any other winch unless it is a Gorilla.
