I've been to Beartown twice. The second time was in the fall of 2007, exactly one year after I was there the first time. I loved it as much the second time as I did the first.
Trails
The trails are very technical. Little mud, lots of rocks, elevation changes, twists and turns, etc. You really need to pay attention to realize everything on the trails. There are a LOT of rocks, a lots of slippery leaf-covered hills, and a lot of spots where putting your tires in the right spot is important. However, the trail can likely be done in 2WD, but 4WD does make it easier.
Accessibility
My only gripe about Beartown is the parking lot. There is one small (and by small I mean tiny) area to park your truck. Also, it is a few miles into the park; you need to drive a good ways just to get to the lot.
Overall
I love the Beartown trails. They are a lot of fun when you want to go on a more technical ride. Do not expect to have areas where you can go full-throttle, for there aren't. Beartown has a good set of trails; I highly recommend trying them out.
