Pros: Beautiful place to ride. Easily accessible. Parking lot similar to a boat ramp with long spots for trucks and trailers. Varied terrain with difficult to easy trails and a little something for everyone.
Cons: Closed January 1 through March 16. This place would be great all year!

Driving into Brown Mountain we stopped to get some trail snacks at the last little store on Hwy. 118. Don't stop here! Stop in Morganton or another larger town so you don't get screwed on prices like you are at the ski slopes. The road going up to the parking lot was dirt and smooth. Easily accessible to all vehicles. Parking lot was top notch with bathrooms at the trail head. We rode all of the trails in about 5-6 hours. Both of us are advanced riders with a lot of time on four wheelers and motorcycles. We found the advanced trails challenging and fun and down right tough in several spots. The difficult trails are not difficult the entire distance, rather intermediate. However, the difficult parts definitely are difficult even for an experienced rider. Trail 1 runs from trail head to the back of the area and is a perfect ride for the entire family. Riders were courteous and friendly and varied from 4-80 years of age. Overall, one of the best places I have ridden. This place is definitely worth an overnight trip to ride here.
