Pros: Independent suspension, tons of power, great looks, unstoppable 4x4
Cons: Small axels, poor stock tires, poorly vented side pannels, gas guage.

I just recently sold my '02 Arctic Cat for this Grizzly. I loved the Cat, but after much research, I finally settled on the Grizzly. I don't regret the choice one bit. It's a great machine and tons of fun to drive. Yamaha has really done well with it's sales of the Grizzly in the past and this year really addressed many previous issues surrounding the Grizzly.

This thing is simply unstoppable on the trail. It has tons of power for any job and still leaves room for more. I've actually had the front wheels up in the air on a few occasions. It climbs hills with ease and the engine breaking on a steep descent is unsurpassed when in low gear.

The brakes are greatly improved with disk brakes all around. A single disk brake is mounted directly on the rear drive shaft making it stop on a dime if you need it to. It also has a very good IRS system on it that can be tweaked to the driver's liking.

The stock tires that come with it are of very poor quality. They simply just don't do this great machine justice. I was very dissapointed in Yamaha for putting such inferior tires on this monster machine. I instantly replaced the tires and rims with 27" ITP MudLites on C-series rims. What a difference it made in the Grizzly's stance, performance and looks.

It has a very intuitive digital dash that keeps the rider informed of all important information. The issue with the electronic gas gauge is that it doesn't seem to be very accurate as it will only measure by the quarter of a tank seeing that it's a bar graph with four bars.

I was never a fan of automatics, but after driving one it was actually worth it. I did get water in the belt once but only after some really silly river riding. I just pulled the drain plug and away I went. Simple as that. I haven't had any issues yet with the automatic tranny and it works well in all throttle demands.

Overall, this machine seems to be of very good quality. It's performance is top notch. I have a great time riding in all sorts of terrain with my buddies and I would recommend this ATV to anyone looking for a machine in the big bore range.
