Pros: Safety features (tether kill and rear kill) Semi-auto transmission
Cons: Lack of suspension

I bought this ATV after a year of looking. The main things that attracted me to this one were the price point and features. My son is four and he just loves it. It's the perfect quad for him to grow into and learn how to ride safe.

It has several great safety features. The engine can limited by way of leaving the ATV in first and removing the shifter. As experience grows, it can be upped a gear with the ultimate goal of them shifting on their own. There is a throttle limiter and two tether kill swithes.

The engine runs super smooth and is incredibly quiet. It runs about as loud as a small trolling motor. It's a four stroke four speed semi-auto but it runs incredibly cool. After a few hours of ridding, the exhaust can still be grabbed with your hand. It was barely warm. I was shocked but relieved as Kazuma placed the muffler about an inch away from the rear tire.

The plastics are sturdy. My son sat right on the rear fenders before I could explain to be careful. He weighs about 40 lbs and they stood up to him no problem. It will remain to be seen how they fare in the bush.

The components seem to be well put together. The frame is solid and the weight is actually reasonable at 150lbs. It has a single drum brake controlled by a foot pedal. The lack of a handlebar lever was actually a welcome option as it limits the confusion for the rider. The braking performance is great.

One oversight with this machine is the suspension. The front is solid and it has a single rear mono-shock that cannot be adjusted. This little things seems to ride rather rough in the bumpy stuff. I turned down the tire pressure to help with the softness and it seems to work. The recommended pressure is 17 lbs. I dropped it to half that and the beads are still solid.

Set up was relatively easy. All I had to do was drain the shipping oil and refill. It comes with a small battery that you fill yourself and it's ready to use no charging needed. Add some gas and adjust the carb. After that, all you do is make sure everything is tightened down solid. The carb adjustment was fairly quick to get running smooth.

So far the machine has a fun factor of 5 out of 5 for him. I like the fact that my son can now enjoy a sport I love so much.
