I have run durablue axles for over 20 years on all types of atvs and trikes and I've never broken one. MX racing, XC, ice, drags, hill climbs, and trail riding. I've flipped, crashed, slammed and beaten my bike and the axle always comes back solid and straight.
On my raptor I flew off a dune razor back and pancaked after about a 40 foot drop off. The left front and rear tires blew off their rims, I ripped the left shock mount off the frame and bent the left shock. The axle was straight as an arrow and I'm still running it today. If thats not a good axle Im not sure what is.
The x33 pin drive hubs are a good and bad thing at the same time. They are much lighter and stronger than stock hubs and there are no axle nuts or splines to worry about. The problem is that the pin drive hubs have to be very tight, around 60-90 lb-ft of torque to keep them from wobbling loose. I made the mistake of not tightening them up enough with a regular set of hubs, but I havent had any problems now with the billet ones.
Overall its a great axle and I'd recommend it to any recreational rider and most racers. If you are running an MX track I'd go with an RPM just because they are somewhat stronger. The X33 is the lightest aftermarket axle availible besides the specialized drag and hill shooter axles. I have yet to have any problems with durability and from what I've seen I will buy another durablue before I ever even consider Lonestar's product.
