Pros: Tuneability, low end power gains

We installed this on my friend's bike. It had porting where mine did not, same piston, similar cam, midrange pipe vs my top end pipe, and a longer swingarm than I. With everything as equal as we could get it the same thing kept happening, he would get me out of the hole and by the end of third gear I'd catch and pass him. The carb gave a good power boost down low and midrange but even against the stock carbs it was at a disadvantage. He now has my pipe and is a little happier, but its still not much up top.
The intake manifold is very restrictive and needs porting and reshaping pretty badly. The carb isnt big enough to flow for larger bikes, so if you plan on going big bore I'd go a different route.
The edelbrock was much easier to tune. In the time that I took to change my mains, adjust the air screws, or change the needles he could test and rejet 3 times. No matter what he tried he couldnt get the carb to feed up top though, topped out in 5th gear the bike would not run well and he had to back off the throttle just a touch and it was fine. It appears that this is a common problem with the bike. I know it wasnt the limiter since he had a 10k rpm rev box.
This carb is a good upgrade for trail riders and those who dont like jetting. If you are going to keep your bike around 50-55 hp this carb will flow fine and give you all kinds of low and mid power. But its not for drag racing, top end speed or power, or big bore engines.
