Pros: Solid simple design. Allows light to turn light with handlebars. Good level of light for spoting animals at night without spooking them too much. Self cleaning weatherproof switch.
Cons: Design could be better. Slightly dangerous when removed.

When you are not using it, you have a metal tube sticking straight up from your handlebars(ouch). It remains in the way if you want to shift your weight forward. Catch any holes at high speed and you might lose some teeth. Comes with connectors and a fuse for direct battery connection. Connectors are already installed which does not allow you to change the legnth unless you have more connectors of your own. Added a cigarette lighter plug because I wanted it removeable. Who wants the thing riding around with you in the mud foolin around during the day? Box shows it mounted to the front rack but the clamp is much too large for this. Only fits a ~1" tube and most rack tubing is much smaller. Directions are poor at best as they make no sense. Added neoprene o-rings to the pivot points because the screws work themselves loose from vibration and the light bobs around. Also enables you to adjust the light without adjusting the knobs. Box that the light came in brags 100,000 candlepower and the website says 70,000???
It is an advantage to have the light mounted to the handlebars. It turns with the handlebars and lets you see there you are turning. When installed, the light is just below eye level and lights up the eyes of any animals in front of you very well. Power draw is fairly low and the battery will run about an hour before the bike will no longer start. My stock 05 Kodiak I installed this on can run headlights and spotlight without a problem.
In hindsight, I think I would go with the spotlight by RAM. When you remove it all that is left is a round ball on your handlebars. The RAM system also allows for universal mounting with all their other accesories including GPS mounts as well as a cupholder.
